Arleta Marię Byks, age 75 of Mount Clemens passed away early Tuesday morning at her home.

She was born July 6, 1946 to Burt and Anna (Smith) Leach in Flint, Michigan. On August 8, 1964 Arleta was united in marriage with Anthony Byks in Mount Clemens.

Mrs. Byks was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. In her younger years she was employed as a Library Aide for the Mount Clemens Public School System, and retired after working for St. Louis Catholic Church. Arleta enjoyed card making, scrapbooking, crocheting, reading books and especially enjoyed spending the winter months in Punta Gorda, Florida at the Waters Edge RV Resort.

Surviving are her children, Dwayne Byks, Dawn (Keith) Hoffman and Christopher (Lynn) Byks; grandchildren, Andrew and Sara Byks, Hannah and Jacob Hoffman, Alexis and Nathan Byks, and sister, Reverend Jessie Furst. Arleta was predeceased by her husband, Anthony on July 12, 2010; sisters, Arlene and Anna "Al".

Visiting hours are 2:00 - 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.
