Ann A. Bakies, age 101, passed away early Wednesday morning at Martha T. Berry Medical Care Facility, Mount Clemens.

She was born December 2, 1917 to John and Agata (Kuzak) Wojslaw in Cleveland, Ohio. On May 31, 1941 Ann was married to William Bakies in Cleveland. The couple settled in Cleveland and moved to Mount Clemens, Michigan in 1946.

Ann was a member of Macomb Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, William (Mary) Bakies Jr., Stephen Bakies, and grandson, Sean Bakies. Mrs. Bakies was predeceased by her husband, William Bakies Sr. on July 20, 1972, and siblings, Mary Smoot, Stephie Osterling, Sophie Karabinos and John Wojslaw.

Visiting hours are from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Will and Schwarzkoff Funeral Home, 233 Northbound Gratiot, Mount Clemens.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Wagner officiating. Burial will follow at Clinton Grove Cemetery, Clinton Township.
