Obituary

Angeles Melo White, age 57 years old of Lenox Michigan, has departed this life. Although she has left us too soon, we come together to celebrate her incredible life with family and friends.

Angeles was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Glenn White, older sister Lupita Guadalupe Melo Jasso and her husband Francisco Javier Mendoza Ortega, daughter Jennifer White, son Emanuel White and daughter-in-law Saffania White, grandson Vincent Estrada, mother-in-law Helen Grace White, and her numerous friends, extended family, colleagues and students at Prevail Academy in Mount Clemens.

She was born in Mexico City, Mexico on July 19, 1960, to Hector Melo and Maria Elena Jasso. She was married to the love of her life and best friend Glenn on July 18, 1992, in Mexico City, Mexico. The 1st chapter of their 26 years of love and happiness started in Little Rock, California where they lived for 12 years. She fell in love with country living, riding ATV's, gathering fresh eggs in the morning from her coop and helping her husband in the garden. Her love for volunteering also started during this time when she became an Amateur Radio (ham radio) Operator for 10 years and later on, a proud member of the Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES). She utilized her skills by volunteering in the Civil Air Patrol, California Wing, Antelope Valley Squadron. Her ability to communicate in radio operations helped with search and rescue and disaster relief in Southern California. However, her desire to help others took a different path when Angeles decided to embark on the journey of becoming a teacher, receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Master's Degree in Education.

As a result, Angeles became a bilingual teacher. She loved her career and her impact on young children. But, the desire to move to Michigan and be closer to the family was something they could no longer ignore. Their transition to the Midwest was fulfilled with weekends antiquing and doing home projects. During the summer, they spent time together at the many beautiful lakes of Michigan. They were fortunate to have found one another because they were soulmates. They loved each other unconditionally and selflessly. Everything they did was for one another and they shared a beautiful life together.

One of the many successes in her life was becoming a mother to Glenn's two beautiful children Jennifer and Emanuel. Being there for them with home cooked meals, words of encouragement and of course, her many hugs and kisses. She also made sure to share her love and passion for the Spanish language, teaching them not just words, but the understanding of the Mexican culture. She was proud to be part of her children's lives and watching them grow.

Yet, the birth of her grandson Vincent was a special moment for her. Since he lived in California, distance did not stop Angeles from being a part of his life and showing him the love and support of a grandmother. She always found time during her week to Facetime with him and she helped tutor him with his reading assignments. It was her greatest joy in life to help others but, helping her grandson was something even more special.

She spent many years as a teacher but found a home with Prevail Academy in Mount Clemens. Her 8 years as a teacher with the academy was fulfilled with many awards and accolades. As a teacher, she always went above and beyond what was expected, donating school supplies, staying late for tutoring, but, most importantly was the work she did one-on-one with those children who needed special attention. She formed special relationships with those she touched and even more with her smile and loving hand waves in the morning.

As many are aware, her smile and friendly waves were not limited to her Prevail Academy family, but, to all who crossed her path. Angeles lived a selfless life, always caring for those around her. Anyone who had the opportunity to meet her would know how big her heart was and though we lost her too soon, we will never forget her smile and the memories she etched in our minds. We can be sure that Angeles's spirit remains around each and every one of us, she will continue to guide us and the memory of her will continue to put a smile on our faces.

To honor her legacy never forget to smile and wave, we love you dearly and miss you Angeles.
